1st Transnational Project Meeting in Rome

In March 2026, we met in Rome for the first official GECKO project meeting, hosted by the Italian organization ANTEAS. We had a great time connecting in person with our wonderful partners from Italy, Germany, Lithuania, and Poland.

Our mission is „Digital Skills. Connected Seniors.” – together, we are fighting against digital exclusion and the loneliness of people aged 65 and over.

What did we achieve during the meeting?
🔹 We exchanged proven good practices in the digital education of seniors.
🔹 We updated our schedule – the training for our digital educators (the so-called GECKO facilitators) .
🔹 We refined our communication strategy and the foundations for our new project website.

Full of energy, we are now getting ready to create local support groups „Social Crews” to help seniors gain confidence in using smartphones and online services.

The image is a full shot of a group of approximately 21 adults posing outdoors on a green lawn for a portrait. They are arranged in two rows, with the front row mostly kneeling or sitting, and the back row standing. They are a diverse group in terms of age and attire, ranging from formal business wear, such as suits and dress coats, to casual clothing like jeans and sweaters.
